MAKING IT FAIR FOR CHILD WITNESSES
The Research Process
Stage Five:
Jurors’ perceptions of child witnesses
At the end of the project, a group of 260 ‘jurors’ viewed some of the videos of the children and evaluated how credible they thought the children’s testimony was.
This is important as, irrespective of whether the child’s testimony is highly accurate and comprehensive, if the jury do not find the child credible, there will be no conviction.
